CVS trip over thanksgiving

CVS have a 3 day sale on Thurs - Sat. We popped out on Thanksgiving morning to get a few bits and since I had a few Extra Bucks for CVS and some corresponding coupons we popped in. I wanted to get the Bic Soleil razor but they were all sold out. Instead I got herbal essences shampoo and conditioner. They were $2.99 get $2 in extra bucks back.
I bought a shampoo and a conditioner and used a coupon for a free shampoo or conditioner on one and a $1 coupon on the other.
I also picked up a king size Snickers bar for 2 reasons. 1 because they are delicious and 2 because they were $1.59 receive $1.59 in extra bucks.
So for the shampoo and conditioner it was $2.99 + $2.99 +$1.59 = $7.57
I used the free coupon $2.99 + $1 herbal essences coupon which gave me $3.99 off the total bringing it down to $3.58.
I then used a $3 extra buck I had from before which made my total $0.63 including tax. I paid this with a small balance I had left on a gift card.

I spent no actual money and I left with $5.59 in extra bucks plus I already had an odd $1 in extra bucks from buying coke a few weeks ago.

We were going somewhere else that morning so when we were headed back we popped into a different CVS and looked for the earbuds that are on sale this week for $6.99 as my iPod ones broke and I have using a pair from the dollar store.
My luck was in as they had a really good stock. I purchased the earbuds at $6.99 using my $6.59 in extra bucks and an odd $0.43 I had in my purse.
I received $6.99 in extra bucks.

Then I went and picked up a Vaseline sheer infusion (which I have ben wanting to get for ages but thought it was too expensive considering I have a bunch of lotions already). They were $7.99 get back $7.99 in extra bucks.

I paid using my $6.99 in extra bucks and a $1 coupon I had from a newspaper insert making my total $0.00. Plus I got back $7.99 in extra bucks for my next purchase.
So, I picked up goods worth $22.55 and paid only $0.43 in cash for them and still have $7.99 in extra bucks to spend.

Stacys chips

You have to be quick off the mark to get some freebies. I signed up for a sample of Stacy's Pita chips from the All You website and moments later they were all gone.
I get the All You magazine each month. It has some really good recipes in it and stacks of good coupons. The website is fairly new I believe and it is pretty good. Helpful ideas for bargain hunting, links to coupons, recipes, household tips etc. It is worth taking a look if you haven't already.

Kodak Gallery millions of thanks promotion

What I love about America are the great deals just waiting to be found.
This is a really great deal. Kodak are giving away $15 to spend at the Kodak Gallery. You can purchase prints or use the $15 to get a photo gift.
As an avid tea drinker I opted to get a photo mug. It is so cute. I put pictures of my dog on it. I will post a pic of it when it arrives...which shouldn't be too long as I placed the order and a couple of hours later received an email saying it had been shipped.

You do have to pay shipping and for my mug it was $5.99. It is a real bargain especially when you could use this for someones christmas present.

Here is more information as posted on the Kodak Gallery website.

* 1 FREE gift of $15 good towards the Kodak Gallery website (fulfilled as a digital code) per person limit.
* If/once the $15 gift codes are exhausted in each phase, 40% off gift codes will be given away.
* If you are the recipient of a 40% off gift code, you may come back to the promotion during the next phase to receive a $15 gift code.
* Visitors must register for the promotion and opt-in to receive future information from the Kodak Gallery in accordance with our privacy policy to be eligible for the FREE gift and/or discount code.
* 300,000 $15 gift codes will be given away over the course of the promotion. Please see the breakdown to see how many $15 digital codes will be given away per promotion phase. Kodak Gallery is also giving away other gifts through other offers, totaling 1 million gifts.

CVS deal from last week

I forgot to post about this great deal I got at CVS last week.
They were doing a special on Dove and Degree products. If you spent $20 you got $10 back in Extra Bucks. I wanted to get some clinical strength deodorant so thought I would take advantage of this offer to get it for a really cheap price as they are normally around $10 each.

I got 2 Degree clinical strength deodorants. They were on sale for $6 each.

I also got a Dove shampoo and a conditioner. These were both $4.49 each.

This made my total $20.98 so I qualified for the deal.
I had completed a survey for CVS and received $10 in extra bucks to spend and I had $4 extra bucks from a previous listerine deal and an odd $1 extra buck so I used these to pay for the items along with a $2 and $1 coupon for each of the deodorants and $1.50 and $1 coupons for the hair products.
This made my actual total to pay only $0.48 which I paid for with a CVS gift card that I had earned through a survey site.

So all in all....no cash paid and I get $10 in extra bucks to spend on a future deal.

Neosporing lip health

Neosporin has a new lip treatment out which I like because it has an SPF of 20 which is great here in Houston as it is really sunny most days.
Here is a link to sign up for a $3 coupon. I found a coupon somewhere else (I can't remember where now). At CVS they have a clip free coupon this month that automatically takes $2.50 off the product when you use your CVS card. Combining that with the $3 coupon means you get the product for FREE!
I got two and I have been using them everyday. It is a good product and great that you can get it for nothing.

Glade Sense & Spray

I am a member of BzzAgent and am taking part in a campaign for Glade Sense & Spray.
As anyone that reads my blogs will know I am a big fan of this product and more than willing to spread the word about it.

I love these for the bathroom. They work on a sensor and once it sprays it locks for half an hour but if you need to use it before then there is a button you can press for an extra spray.

I love the apple and cinnamon scented one but I have been sent the new Clear Springs scent to try and it is lovely.

Here are some facts about the Sense & Spray from Glade:

Glade® Sense & Spray™ automatic freshener is the first motion-activated air freshener created for home use. Makes us wonder where automatic, motion-sensor freshness has been all our lives. Keep these other fresh facts in mind when spreading the word:

Two Ways to Spray
Glade® Sense & Spray™ motion-activated freshener releases fragrance when:

  • The sensor detects motion (up to five feet away)
  • Someone presses the boost button on the front of the unit

Save the spray
After spraying, Glade® Sense & Spray™ motion-activated freshener automatically turns off its sensor for 30 minutes to help conserve your refill and prevent an overpowering scent.

Thirty days of spray
Depending on foot traffic in the room where you place your Glade® Sense & Spray™ motion-activated freshener, your refill should last about 30 days, with about 10 room-freshening sprays per day.

Getting started
The Glade® Sense & Spray™ motion-activated freshener starter kit has everything you need to, you know, get started. It has a suggested retail price of $8.99 and includes:

  • One smart spray unit
  • One refill canister (Clean Linen™, Clear Springs® or Apple Cinnamon scent)
  • 2 AA batteries

Keeping it going
Easy-to-replace refills are available for a suggested price of $3.49 in six fresh scents: Clean Linen™, Apple Cinnamon, Country Garden®, Powder Fresh®, new Hawaiian Breeze® and odor-fighting Clear Springs®. Pick up a starter kit and refills at all mass retailers, drug stores and supermarkets and learn more at glade.com.

In the kit that bzzAgent sent me to try was a Clear Springs Sense & Spray starter kit and a booklet with some coupons for $4 off. I only have a few to give away but if anyone would like to have one I can send one to you...so long as you let me know quickly before they are all gone.

I believe Walmart still have these on rollback which would make them only $1 after the coupon.

Free EOS lip balm

About a month ago I signed up for a free lip balm at theeosphere and it arrived today. It's a full size mint lip balm and it smells delicious. It is such a strange shape for a lip balm but it works really well. It is great for lazy people because you can apply it to both lips at the same time.
I am totally addicted to lip balms and this is a nice one to add to my ever increasing collection.

I just checked on the website but they are no longer offering it for free. They are giving away coupons for $1 off though so you could snap one up for a bargain price. I think they are normally around $3.99ish.

Glade deals galore

I love Glade and I love that there are always deals around whereby you can get items for free or almost free.

A couple of deals I have done this week are:

WALMART - Sense and Sprays and Lasting Impressions are on rollback here for $5. Using the $4 coupons that are around (from newspaper inserts, magazines - All You in particular - coupons from purchasing previous items etc) these are only $1.

I didn't even bother getting the Lasting Impressions as my bathroom closet is full of them but I did get a few of the Sense and Sprays because we love those.
The Fragrance Collection by Glade is also on rollback and if you have the coupon for $3 off any Fragrance Collection item then you can get the bigger candles for a dollar and change or you can get the small one for free.
WALGREENS - I got two of the scented oil candle holders. They are 2 for $4 this week. I used a $2 off a holder coupon and a $1.50 off a holder or refill pack. I was also able to use a coupon to get a free pack of refills when you buy a holder. Bonus was that you get a $1 register reward to spend on your next purchase in store. Brilliant deal.
They also have the small fragrance collection candles as part of the 2 for $4 deal. I have a coupon for a free 2oz. candle so i might try to go back and take advantage of the deal again. I believe I have another $2 off a holder so I could get two items for free and get back a $1 RR. Can't beat that :)

Lots of freebies from Walgreens Photo

Lots of great freebies from Walgreens this week. I went on Sunday to the store and bought the new softsoap bodywash. It was $3.99 and gave back a $4 Register Reward...yay. I also bought a Conair hairbrush on sale this week for $2.99 and it gives a $2 RR. I paid with $4 in previous Register rewards and some money from a gift card that I got free on MyCokeRewards so I didn't even pay anything and got back more money to spend. Good going huh? Here is a pic of the bodywash. It smells good and I think it looks lovely with the little beads in it.
Anyway this week the photo department is doing loads of promoting. There are freebies and bargains galore. Here is a list for what will be available this week:

Monday: 25 4 x 6 prints for $0.25 (promo code PENNY)
Tuesday: Free 11x14 poster (promo code FREEPOSTER)
Wednesday: Free photo clings
Thursday: Free 20 4x6 prints
Friday: $0.99 scrapbook page 8x10
Saturday: 50% off everyday photobooks
Thanks to hotcouponworld for posting these deals. You can check for the promo codes each day here.

I've already placed my order for today. You can place an order for the prints up until 23:59 tonight.

Walgreens Glade Sense and Spray

This was not only free for me but I got money back...yay!!!
Walgreens this week are selling Glade Sense and Spray for $6.99 and giving a $2 Register Reward back. There are always coupons in the Sunday papers for $3 or $4 off these which makes it a real bargain. I had a coupon for a free one so I paid nothing and got $2 back. Can't get better than that :)
The offer at Walgreens also include the Lasting Impressions plug in and the wisp candle. I have a coupon for a free Lasting Impressions so I will go back some time this week to get that. I couldn't get them both at the same time because the way their program works you would only get the one Register Reward and of course I want two of them, lol.

Free Sham Wow

This is a good one. I've kind of wanted to try the Sham Wow because the commercial is so weird.

Avonia Blue is a market research company and you have to fill in a little cleaning survey with them in order to get the two free sham wow cloths. This probably means that you'll get some spam email but hey, everyone has a spare email address that they don't really use so use that one.
I was thinking that this sounded too good to be true but you don't have to put in your credit card detils or anything so I decided it was worth the risk. Believe me I would not be putting my credit card details into a market research site.
Anyway, they say it will take 8 weeks for it to be delivered so watch this space....

You can go here to take the survey and try your luck.

Great deal on Propel water at Kroger

Kroger have been having their mega saver event and this was my favorite deal of them all. I bought a bunch of these Propel drinks last week and after paying the Catalina machine printed out a coupon for $2 off 9 bottles. So, Sunday we popped into Kroger to get a few things and I thought I would use this coupon. I bought 10 bottles which were $0.99 each. Total was $9.90. They take off $5 because these items are part of the mega saver event. Then I handed over my $2 coupon which meant my total for 10 bottles of water was $2.90 or $0.29 each.
Not bad at all.

Kroger Mega Saver Event

Kroger are having a mega saver event which they do every so often. This was the first time I actively participated in the deals....mainly because we seem to have spent a lot of money quickly this month and I wanted to stock up on drinks and water.
Basically you buy ten participating products and a $5 discount is taken off at checkout. So, you could buy 10 bottles of SoBe water at $0.99 each and after the $5 discount they are $0.49 each. Good deal huh? Even better if you have coupons to match some of the items. If you have good coupons you can get stuff for free or close to it. I bought a Kraft dressing at $1.69. After a $1 coupon and the discount it was only $0.19.
I got a whole bunch of stuff for bargain prices. My favourite was the 3l bottles of Ozarka water that after discount was $0.49 so I got a few bottles of that for our hurricane ration kit, I got a bunch of the Quaker rice cakes which I love, some Rice Krispies and a bunch of other stuff we needed. The salad kits were all reduced which was good since I'm planning on filling up on salad for the next few weeks.
Oh I almost forgot mars chocolate bars are 2 for $1 with your Kroger card and I used 4 of the free coupons from the Mars chocolate giveaway. The cashier puts them through at the full coupon value which is $0.89 so for $2 of chocolate we were credited $3.56 so the spare $1.56 went towards paying for the rest of our groceries.

Free Photobook from CVS after ECBs

This week at CVS there is a promotion where you can get a Kodak photobook for $7.99 and you receive $7.99 in extra care bucks back effectively making it free. Our local ad says the limit for this is 1 per household but apparently you can actually get 5. The books are only the 6x8 ones which have 10 pages.
You can't make them online unfortunately. You need to actually go into the store but as long as you have your photos you want to use on a flash drive, cd or memory card it shouldn't take all that long to do.
I really want to get at least one. I'm currently making one for my mum online with a different company which will be the tale of when she came to America and of my wedding. The one I am doing for her is going to have about three times as many pages as the one CVS is offering but since I am grouping all the photos together it only makes sense that I make myself a little book as well especially as it won't cost anything (I have $8 in ECBs from the recent sunscreen offer).
It's a nice little freebie and I will make every effort to go to the store this week and get one. It expires Saturday so I have a few days.

Free Starbucks Ice Cream from Facebook

Starbucks are giving away free ice cream on Facebook. They are giving away 800 pints every hour until July 19th. You need to have a facebook account and if you click here you can choose to send a coupon for free ice cream to yourself or to someone else. If you don't get the free one you can get a coupon for $1 off. I got one straight away so it is quite easy. You just need to do it at the top of the hour. My husband loves the caramel macchiato one so this should be a nice surprise for him.

Free movies

We love movies in this house and watch them all the time. Film Metro is a site that offers tickets to film previews normally a few days before the movie comes out. You just have to sign up and click on the city nearest to you and see what films are showing then if you want to go see it you click a button and hey presto you have a ticket for you and a guest to go see a movie. They overbook them so that the theater is full so you would have to go early to make sure you get in. The best time to check is early in the morning because the tickets can go really quickly.
We have tickets to go and see Bruno on Tuesday.

Old Navy Flag T-Shirts for $1

Another deal at Old Navy this Friday July 3rd. Their flag shirts will be on sale for just $1. I believe there will be a limit of 5 per customer. That is a serious bargain and if they release new coupons on their website that would be an absolute steal.
They are not really my type of apparel but seriously for $1 I would buy a couple and use them as cover ups for going swimming.

edit: Apparently not all stores are doing this sale so it's a bit of a lucky dip. I bet they all go on sale after July 4th though.

Free Piggy Bank from Suave and Sam's Club

I got this little piggy bank in the post yesterday. I love piggy banks and used to use different ones for currencies from the various countries I would visit. Of course since the introduction of the Euro I didn't use so many but still I have a fondness for money banks particularly the piggy ones. For some reason, without even realizing it, I have bought piggy banks as souvenirs when I've been on holiday. My favorite is a big one I got in Majorca. My second favorite is a little clog one I got in Amsterdam. This is the first one I have got for free though and whilst it is plastic not china it is still cute. A bit tacky perhaps but still cute.
It came from the Sam's Club website but I don't think it is available anymore. They must have only had a certain amount to give out.

This week at Walgreens Aquafresh Advanced toothpaste (5.6 or 6oz.) is on sale for $3 and you receive a $3 register reward to spend effectively making the purchase free. Even better is if you have the $0.75 coupon from last Sunday's paper. I understand there are also $1 coupons available to print on the aquafresh website.

Free I Love Coffee Coin Purse

backalleycoffee.net is offering a free coin purse which is pretty cute. I love these things for putting hairbands and stuff in so I'd like to have one. It does say on the site gift available while supplies last. After doing a quick google search it appears this offer has been posted all over the internet so I would think the supplies have probably already run out. However, to be in with a chance click here to fill in the form.

Old Navy rib-knit tanks for $2 - Saturday only

Old Navy is having another great promotion. This Saturday (June 20th) they are selling rib-knit tanks for just $2!!! There is a limit of 5 per customer and as with the flip flops sale recently I would imagine you would have to get there pretty early to get the best choice.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Crest Pro Health toothpaste - Good Deal at CVS

Good deal on toothpaste at CVS this week. They are selling the 4.2 oz Crest Pro Health toothpaste for $2.99 and giving you 2 Extra Care Bucks when you use your CVS loyalty card. There are plenty of coupons available for this product giving $1 off which would make this free afters ECBs. I know there have been coupons in the Sunday papers. There was a $1 coupon in a pack of whitestrips I bought. You can also get a $1 coupon by clicking here.

FREE 8" x 10" photo at CVS

CVS are doing a great special for Father's day. You can get a free 8"x10" photo.
You can upload your photo online and either have it posted to you for a small fee or you can collect it in store for absolutely free. You just need to enter the promo code FREE8X10
This offer is valid through June 21, 2009.
I keep meaning to do this and have been forgetting so I am definitely going to do this today.
Walgreens recently offered this promotion for Mother's Day and I was able to get a free photo from my wedding day. I may choose another wedding pic for this one. I haven't quite decided yet. I might pick a completely random one.

If you haven't used the photo processing at CVS before you can get up to 50 4"x6" photos for free as well. You get 20 free prints when you open an account and 30 more when you add your ExtraCare card number to your account.
The great thing about this is that you don't have to print 50 photos at one time. You receive credits so if you only want to have 25 printed you can print those and then later on when you have more to print you can use your remaining credits.

If you are interested in this offer just click here and it will take you to the CVS photo site.

Burt's Bees Lip Balm freebie

Burt's Bees are giving away 25,000 lip balms over a period of 25 days. They are giving away 1,000 every day through June 20th. Here are the rules as posted on their site:

The giveaway starts anytime between 9 a.m. and 12 noon EDT but no one knows exactly when! To equal the odds and give you the fairest chance at a free balm, we've randomized the giveaway to start anytime between 9 a.m. and 12 noon EDT. It could be anytime. For instance -- it may be 9:15 AM one day, 10:25 AM the next, or 11:51 AM the day after! We don't know either - and that's what makes it fun! And if you don't get it one day, you'll get your chance. The balm giveaway goes through June 20, 2009.

They go really quickly. I have been trying on and off for a week or so to get one because I am totally addicted to lip balm. I must have about 30 but I always want more. I think lip balms are my weakness. Twice I was able to fill in the form but when I clicked submit I was too late. Today though I got it!!!! Yay!!! Free lip balm for me.

Click here to be taken to the Burt's Bees website.

Emeril's Original Essence free samples

I signed up for this free sample yesterday. I've never tried this particular brand before but I will certainly give it a try. You get two little packets of Emeril's Original Essence Seasoning. Allow 8-12 weeks for delivery. Click here to fill in the form.

St Ives Body Wash at Walgreens FREE AFTER RR

I went to Walgreens yesterday morning as I really wanted to try the St Ives body wash they have on special this week. It is on sale for $2.99 and you receive a $3 Register Reward effectively making it free. I had a coupon for $1.50 off which made this an even sweeter deal.
Quite often when they do deals like this the shelves are cleared but everyone must have been at church or something because there were loads when I went at about 10am.
Whilst I was there I got a pack of two toothbrush covers which I have been after for ages but I keep forgetting about them. I got two sticks of liquorice as well because I love them and they were only $0.10 :) I paid using my $1.50 St Ives coupon and $3 in Register Rewards so my out of pocket total was only $0.74 including tax. Plus I got a $3 register reward back. Yay!

Walgreens Save $5 off $25 June 10th & 11th

Walgreens is providing a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $25 or more. The offer expires after today though. This could be used to get some really good deals if you purchase items that provide Register Rewards. The title of this entry will link to the coupon.
I will edit this entry later to post my purchases.

Okay so I have been wanting to try the Crest Whitestrips but they are quite a lot of money for something that I wasn't sure would actually work. They were on sale for $29.99 and it was a bonus two pack.
I also got Dunkin Donuts coffee, a small container of talcum powder, a bug spray and a Carmex lip balm. I had coupons for the whitestrips and bug spray as well as the $5 off $25 and a $10 register reward.
The total after coupons was $23.45 and I also received back $8 in Register Rewards. Not bad at all considering the whitestrips were $29.99 to start with.

JCPenney sales

JCPenney are apparently having some really good sales and at the moment are having a Customer Appreciation sale. They have a coupon on their website you can print off for 15% off.
Better than that though I got a card in the mail from them yesterday for fathers day giving me $10 off $10. They have some really cute dresses that I might use it on but you could also buy something for $10 and effectively get it for free.

If you don't get one of these cards you can still get $10 off when you shop online by using the promo code GR8DAD

Bargain Razor Bonus Packs at Target

Theses bonus packs were on clearance at Target for $7.98. I had a $4 coupon for these that was expiring this weekend so I bought it and the total was $3.98. Not bad at all considering you got two free body washes with them and the darker colored one is such a yummy smell. Razors are something that I am always going to need as unfortunately I am one of those women who can shave their legs one day and then I need to again two days later. I got some of these type razors earlier on in the year for free but who knows when the next good deal will come up.

Free Victoria's Secret Panties

This is a really great free deal that I got yesterday. Victoria's Secret are giving away free panties!!!
If you click on the title of this entry it will link to the coupon that you need to print and bring to the store.
You don't even have to purchase anything else. You can just go in and get a free pair of VS panties. Any woman knows you can never have too many of these and there are quite a few styles to choose from. The colors are limited to pink, white, black and nude but really aren't they the colors that most people wear anyway?

Cheap Airwick and Glade at Target

Airwick imotion are on sale at Target at the moment for $4.99. When you use the $4 coupons they are only $0.99. I got the Lavender & Vanilla scent because I am using that at the moment and it is a lovely scent. Usually Lavender and Vanilla scents can be overpowering but this one is really nice. I also got the Mountain Breeze one to try. If it smells horrible it doesn't really matter because it only cost $0.99.

Also at Target are the Glade scented oil candles in the tins. They are ringing up as $1.67. There are $1.50 coupons which makes these only $0.17. There are also coupons for a free pack of refills when you buy the tin and other coupons for a free tin when you buy the refills.

The Dewberry Dreams scent is the favorite in my home so I stocked up on those but I also have the Clean Linen scent just for a change.

Pink Revlon Ionic Hair Dryer for $2.99

This is my new back up hair dryer. It was such a bargain. It's on sale at Walgreens. The regular price is $19.99 but it is currently on MegaSaver for $12.99. The absolute best thing about it is that this week when you buy it you get a $10 Register Reward back. Considering I will be spending $10 in that store anyway my new pink hair dryer cost me only $2.99!!! Another bonus is that part of the cost will be donated to cancer research which definitely is a plus to me. Not only did I get a super bargain but I'm helping an extremely worthwhile cause.
